Every once in a while, I somehow see spoilers that turn out not to be true. I saw someone say about the ending “was that really necessary?” so was prepared the whole time for something outlandish to happen in the end. I also kept hearing the story is so crazy and really thought it would become more insane. Would Sabine die? Would Greta and Big Swiss kill each other? Nope. Honestly a very normal, sweet ending. Totally changed my view of the book. It ended up actually reminding me a little of Eleanor Oliphant, my last read.
I’m just gonna summarize my thoughts: this book was actually hilarious. It had such a unique sense of humor. The writing got into my brain and I started thinking like it. I felt like my thoughts were written by Jen Beagin. None of the characters were likable except for Om ironically, but I also did feel them and thought there were a lot of important and vulnerable things said in this. Super unique book. Compulsively readable in a way I don’t experience much anymore. This will either become a 3 or 5 for me in the future, one of those books that has to settle inside for me.
