Hello! I am a teenager living in Israel, and especially because of the current situation going on, my will to read books by Jewish authors has ignited. I read many translated fiction books, but I’m practically clueless on where to begin when it comes to Jewish Literature.
I’m okay with every genre! But my favorites are fantasy, science fiction, thriller, horror, dark academia, and gothic literature! I like historical fiction as well, but I would prefer if the time period isn’t during the holocaust (though I’d appreciate some recommendations for less well known books).
I would love some recommendations for books by Jewish authors, with Jewish characters. It would be even better to have some Israeli authors as well, because despite me living in Israel, there are so many authors that I don’t even know where to start /:
Some authors that I have on my TBR are: Deborah Levy, Naomi Novik, Michael Chabon. I’d like to add more tho. If it helps, I also read a short story from S.Y. Agnon called “The Lady and The Peddler” that I’ve really enjoyed.
