I have been told many times that I have a very fun and engaging voice when I read children’s books. So I got the idea that I want to start a YouTube channel reading popular children’s book BUT in Spanish since many kids in Spanish speaking countries and communities can’t access the incredible children’s books we have in the U.S. The problem that I see is that those Spanish translations would be my own, not the official book translations so would that be a problem? Also, would I have to ask for the author’s permission if their book is read and translated in a YouTube video? If so, how do you even reach an author? Thanks so much for your help ♥️

You could still get in trouble for unauthorized reproduction of the work, even if you are the one doing the translating if you go about this without permission. I do not know how you would have to go about getting permission though.
That’s just straight up illegal. Will you get sued? Probably not but you’ll get your channel taken away pretty much immediately.
