I’m blown away! Safiya Sinclair’s words are pure poetry. “How to Say Babylon” is a strikingly beautiful memoir about a young girl growing up in a Rastafari household in Jamaica. Throughout the book, we see her struggle to find herself under her father’s tightening reigns and abuse. At times, it was difficult for me to read because of how much I related to her experiences with her father. I did find it to be repetitive at times, but it’s a great memoir. I’m curious to hear what others think!
If you like Educated by Tara Westover, I highly recommend reading this!
