When reading a book AFTER having seen the movie, do you picture the movie characters in your head when reading, despite any descriptive differences there might be in the book?

I’ve pretty much established for myself that I’m incapable of conjuring up a character in my head based on a book’s description if I’ve already seen an adaptation of it. I just finished reading IT last week, and despite the book saying that grown up Bill Denbrough was bald, all I could imagine was James McAvoy.

Same thing with The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck were in my head all throughout the novel.

Same with The Shining. Etc etc.

Does this happen to anyone else?
