I do not have an extensive list of books I have read but from what I have so far, I know for sure I get the most enjoyment out of fantasy style books based in a world where people can use magic.

His dark materials (HBO show was great, hence the title)
    Eragon series (movie was gross)
    Harry Potter (movies were awesome)
    Court of mist and roses

I loved all 4 of these, and and now looking for a new series of books to read, and if they have a show/movie to go with it that’s just a bonus.

Thanks guys I’m looking forward to the suggestions 🙂

    1. The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (finished by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan’s death) is probably my favorite epic fantasy series. It’s 14 books (plus one prequel and several reference books) equalling more than 11,000 pages, so it’s a big time commitment (I don’t know anyone who took less than 2 years to read it all). But it ends wrapped up in such a nice, neat bow. And Amazon Prime has put out 2 seasons thus far (with a new one each fall). I should warn you, because it is so dense, they do have to cut a lot out for the show, but they do a good job of boiling it down to the most pivotal plots.

The Broken Earth trilogy by NK Jemisin is also wonderful, and there is supposed to be a TV series in production, but who knows when it will come out.

    2. *Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell* by Susanna Clarke is a standalone book, but BBC made an amazing miniseries out of it that follows the book almost perfectly!
