Hey everyone, so I’ve been very obsessed with an ai app lately and I’ve been spending hours and hours creating story relevant pictures. I’ve got this idea of a outlaw western story about loss, revenge and found family. Buuut, I’ve got this idea in my mind that them being antropomorphic animals would fit much better. The main character would be a fox in the wild west, and the other main characters would primarily be coyotes, maybe some other creatures as well, but mainly those two species. The world would be filled with prejudices and unlikes of some other species. But overall most of the time you probably wouldn’t even notice them not being human, just some difference like abilities, for example greater smell or using claws, teeths in fights etc. And the story would be about this fox seeking revenge for his lost brother, meeting a coyote along the way, wo very slowly grow to be friends, and him having to decide between family and his new found friends. But would that really interest anyone if written with animals?

Why not? It interests you. Write what you want to write.
Write it. If you write it good, people will read it.
If you want to see precedent, the Duncton Wood books were popular when I was growing up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duncton_Wood
It depends on the setting and writing style, but it would probably limit your readership to mainly furries.
Totally fine to do, but definitely won‘t have as broad of an appeal.
Be aware of what our current AI is. It scrapes real artists’ artwork from the web and then regurgitates it as a mix of what it found.
It’s hitting commercial artists hard.
