I read A Square Meal, a book about the culinary history of the Great Depression, and loved it. I enjoyed the background on why each meal/dish was popular, mixed in with relevant history. I was able to find some recipes and try them myself, so recipes included would be a bonus.
Essentially, I’m looking for another culinary history book that focuses on a different era in America
