I will try to explain
I was really fascinated on how the movie showed the concept of obsession towards your work and how it can be toxic or it can backfire
I feel like a lot of Books and movies show a really generic idea on how running towards success will make you an asshole or how the character realises that the journey is more important than result
the movie was a lot more nuanced
Plus I also dislike how they show struggle as a ‘training montage’ in movies where you just work hard and succeed this movie actually showed that even if you are determined it can backfire
So if anyone has some good recommendation on books like these kindly share

That movie was amazing.
I have a buddy who is a big band drummer who refused to see it, said it sounded like it was going to be going over old scars he had.
Honestly, American Psycho is what I thought of. By Bret Easton Ellis. Yeah, he kills people, but that’s not what it’s really about.
Edit: if you’ve seen the movie, it’s not the same. It’s a good adaptation, but what makes the book is his inner monologue and that’s completely lost in the movie.
That ending scene is amazing…
