There’s an old book about a detective investigating the appearance of the bodies of dead babies… It’s a book series starring the same detective with different cases. The author is a woman. I think the original language was French, not sure, but I started reading it in French and then had to return it. I lost the note with the name and author. This is what I remember:

The bodies of at least 2 babies are discovered and the detective is investigating the case, interrogating rich people around a square or road… I think U.K or France.
It’s set in the 1800s, or maybe no later than the 1930s.
Nobody really knows because in the neighborhood there aren’t any pregnant women. A detective is investigating. Lots of rich families.
The cover of the book I read had an old-fashioned stroller, the back was kind of gloomy teal
The name has something like “The murders” or “The crimes”… maybe… but I know it has “XYZ Square” on its name
