The Picture of Dorian Gray

I am on chapter 11 of the books on my first read, so please avoid spoilers if possible. It is the third time I try to read Chapter 11 and simply can’t get through it, for me it is a 24 page chapter and every time I stop at around 7 because it feels totally incoherent. Is there something I could do or maybe skip this chapter? I don’t want to skip because this feels like a good insight into the mind of Dorian Gray
