When people rave about a certain book and you decide to see what the hype is about only to end up not liking it, how much further are you willing to go? I’ve pushed through books I don’t enjoy before, and every time I came out of it, I’d come to the same conclusion: “No more reading books I don’t enjoy, even if lots of people say it’s good.”
Reading is subjective, and everyone has their own taste. If you don’t enjoy something, just say fuck it and move on. There are many more books that fit your taste perfectly out there, no point wasting time.
