I am a student currently study abroad and have been missing home more and more each day, especially after the new school year just started as autumn arrives.

Could you guys suggest books that deal with this feeling of longing for a place or a time in the past, or something related to family bonds to accompany me in these lonely nights?

The Glass Castle does a really beautiful job of looking back on tough times with a sense of nostalgia

    2. When I was reading Light Years by James Salter, I felt like the entire book was written in sepia tone. It read like looking through a box of old photographs. I’m not sure if that’s exactly what you’re looking for, but it seemed similar

Anne of Green Gables? It’s old fashioned, Anne looks back at her past with nostalgia, and throughout the series she goes away to college (basically HS) and then university and deals with homesickness and setting up a new life in her new home
