I’m looking for a YA series to sink into. Some of my favourites have been The Hunger Games, Divergent, Gone, Across the Universe, Twilight, and Fablehaven. I really love having a series to get invested in! I like fantasy & sci fi but it’s not a requirement.

Things that are important to me: genuinely good writing, interesting characters including strong women/girls, lots of plot twists and high stakes!

I’m not super picky with this stuff (I mean, it’s YA) but if I find it too cheesy or it’s poorly written I won’t read it.

Thank you all in advance 🙂

Check out Elizabeth Lim- two duologies and another prequel, all in the same universe with strong FMCs. Among the Hidden by Haddix is a series I really enjoyed that I read around the time I read Fablehaven. The Sisters Grimm is more juvenile, but you might like it as well.

    2. The Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner.

Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series. If you like it, the full Discworld series is not marketed as YA but is great and appropriate for all ages. I read The Colour of Magic when I was 15 and found my favorite author.

    3. The selection series by Kiera Cass
      Shatter me series
One of us is lying series by Karen m McManus

    4. Caraval and Once Upon a Broken Heart series by Stephanie Garber – I would recommend starting with the Caraval series, you’ll meet characters from that in OUABH but if you don’t read Caraval, you’ll still enjoy OUABH 🙂

Divine Rivals, Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross is another one that’s really good!

If you haven’t read, then definitely check out the Red Rising series as well, I find that people who enjoyed The Hunger Games really like this one, too.

The Lunar Chronicles are really good by Marissa Meyer. Is sci-fi fantasy and one of my favorite book series. Lots of action romance and strong female leads.

If you are into fantasy, I would suggest you read ‘The Witcher’ series, it is pretty good.

Another one that I absolutely love is ‘The Kingkiller Chronicle’, but there are only two books and final book is pending to be released for quite a long time now. But the writing and story is really awesome.

Other suggestions among the books that I have read are – A Song of Ice and Fire, Lord of the Rings, Percy Jackson, and The Wheel of Time.

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani! It’s about the children of famous fairy tale characters going to school to learn how to become the next generation of heroes and villains lol. The two main Female Protagonists are sent to the wrong schools, shenanigans ensue. The audiobooks are AMAZING 👏

Maybe not specifically targeting YA, but I would recommend to any YA reader in my life: The Joseph Bridgeman Series by Nick Jones. It’s a 4-book series incorporating some fascinating time travel scenarios, and romance. Individual stories are:

      And Then She Vanished
      The Shadows of London
      The Observer Effect
      The Quantum Chain
