I love reading about magical/fantastical characters and worlds (vampires, gods, magic, shapeshifters, etc) but I’m getting tired of the female lead always being barely over the age of 18 and the male lead looking 30 but is 500 years old. Surely there’s a well written book or series out there that involves well rounded characters that don’t play on this worn out trope. Call me crazy but I would be interested to read about characters of equal age. For reference I like From Blood and Ash series as well as Flesh and Fire series. I read Zodiac and while I like the premise I find it needs severe editing and a tighter plot progression (although the characters are the same age at least, but all barely age of majority). Thank you for any recommendations!
