Hi guys,
So in a conundrum about whether to read the Count of Monte Cristo or not.
I watched the movie when I was a kid and loved it, so its been on my goodreads list for a long time. I recently thought about picking it up but I saw some reviews on reddit saying it was boring and long winded.
I have a lot of books that I want to read in my lifetime and if this book is boring and not worth the 1000 plus pages I would happily give it a miss but if it is worthwhile and engaging I would definitely want to read it.
Advice please 🙏

This is probably a weird answer, since I didn’t get through it, but reading the part where he’s in prison and has to plan and execute his escape was like a little novel in its own right – OK, like a normal-sized novel. Gripping as could be! I actually bogged down hard after that and never finished, but I’ve never regretted reading that first part of it, so I’d say give it a try. (I still mean to go back and give it another try now that I’m older.)
