I’ve been really enjoying The Magnus Archives podcast, and I think this is just my favourite story trope. I love when a skeptic finds out about the supernatural and slowly gets in over their head. Bonus points if they’re given powers/supernatural features as a result that have dire consequences, but they don’t really have a choice but to use them.
Whatever you suggest doesn’t have to fit those prompts perfectly, if it reminds you of a good book you know even a little, please let me hear it!
