Hey folks, I’m a big fan of archaeological adventures, dash of pulp, at least seemingly well researched, erudite, finding clues in historical sites/texts/art, hidden mysteries/lost ancient wonders kinda stuff. But I’ve read very little of this type. Basically Brown’s The DaVinci Code and Kris Frieswick’s Ghost Manuscript. I’m always craving more and I had a 🤦 moment when I realized I should be looking for books, not movies/shows. So what are your best recommendations? It doesn’t need everything on this list all at once, but I hope I’ve described the vibe well enough. Bonus points if it’s actually well researched, and extra bonus if the prose is great too. But frankly I’ll take the appearance of good research and an adventurous hunt for lost lore kinda *feel* over glowing prose here. If your recommendation is a book about a golden retriever who has to hack into a giant eyeball antagonist to save the genome of buttercup flowers to prevent a hostile alien take over, but the *feeling* matches this kinda thing, I’ll still take it.
