I’ve heard such good things about this book, I finally read it! Lockhart’s writing and storytelling truly is beautiful. And I’m so glad I didn’t catch the twist! I love when I’m truly shocked by an ending. I was hoping I’d get a little more insight as to why Cady calls the crew “The Liars”. From what I’ve gathered it seems like the name isn’t meant to be super deep. They all lie here and there throughout the story. But also maybe it’s because Cady is basically lying to herself while she is discovering the damage she caused?
For my other peeps that have read this book, what did you think? And is it worth reading Family of Liars? I know that one is set before We Were Liars, I don’t wanna ruin my view of this little world by reading the Prequel if it sucks lol so let me know!

I read this years ago and put it on my favorites bookshelf. Reading your post, I realize I remember absolutely nothing about this book, at all. Well, except for that I loved it and was deeply impressed by the story-telling.

I’m glad you’re also unsure about why they were called The Liars. I thought I’d just somehow glossed over it during the course of the book.
I also have the prequel on my list to read but haven’t read it yet. Let me know how it is if you ever get to it.
Read this book in one afternoon and remember bawling so much. Maybe not one of my favourite books but definitely one of the most memorable ones.
