Looking for a book where the main character uproots their entire life to move far away (across their country, across their continent, to a different continent) for their romantic partner/boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse’s dreams/career/job and they fit in really well, love it, they accomplish things, too, stay in touch with their family, make friends, and just generally thrive. Especially ideal if this is a long term move (10+ years) and they know that from the outset.

Ideally it touches on the topic of death while they’re away, too (pet, family, etc).

I’m faced with some very scary decisions in the near future and need something to help me envision a future for myself that is NOT miserable because of a breakup, abusive relationship, horrible move, etc. I do terribly with change so my mind really can only envision worst case scenarios for whatever path I can see myself going down. I want something that will give me an idea of what a good path could actually look like. Something to make me think happiness could actually be possible given two drastic decisions (move or breakup).

Edit: can be fiction or non-fiction, even better if the MC is also nervous and conflicted about the decision to move/doesn’t want to move initially.

Not a romantic relationship, but The Dreamhealers series by MCA Hogarth follows a committed platonic relationship where the two main characters decide to build a life together. In the second book in particular one character moves to a different planet for the other one. It’s a overall a very sweet and domestic sci fi book, but it does also deals with darker topics around mortality.
