I’m trying to diversify my media, and a lot of the books I read are by white men.
I’ve found I like light fantasy – not necessarily LOTR or GOT, but I’ve been reading a lot of TJ Klune (House in the Cerulean Sea, Under the Whispering Door). Fantasy that maybe has ghosts or magic, but nothing overly strange, I guess?
I’ve read “Black Buck” by Mateo Askaripour and “Leave the World Behind” by Rumaan Alam, both of which I LOVED. Couldn’t put them down.
Adventure books are fun too. Realistic settings or not are fine!
Really, any great books that feature BIPOC and women authors and characters would be great!
