I introduced my son to audiobooks shortly before his 5th birthday, with Harry Potter. We listen while we drive places, and he prefers audiobooks over music now. We’re in need of some new suggestions to keep things going. He seems to like fantasy, historical fiction and mystery. He is 6, so we’d prefer books rated for children or young adults. I’m not afraid of some dark themes (last few books of HP anyone?) because we discuss what we hear together, but nothing too dark, or sexual in nature.
We’ve done so far:
• Harry Potter
•The Chronicles of Narnia
And he is currently doing:
•A Series of Unfortunate Events (with me)
•Percy Jackson and the Olympians (with my husband)
We physically read Magic Treehouse together. I’d like to do Nancy Drew and the Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale, but our library doesn’t have those audiobooks available on Libby, and I’d prefer to not use Audible credits for children’s books, and save those for my husband’s commute.
Thanks, everyone!

I *highly* recommend [Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/51da4742-ca09-4638-9c93-f13440bff12b)!! The audiobooks are fantastic, and it’s just an overall outstanding series! And [Sal and Gabi Break the Universe](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/55ec8314-b506-45e4-9114-43834c4c962a) is another favorite of mine that has an excellent audiobook.
