*Black River Orchard* by Chuck Wendig
The Secret Keeper or The Clockmaker’s Daughter, both by Kate Morton
Check out Clive Barker if you like King. I almost like his work better, its creepier at times.
{{Drunk on All Your Strange New Words by Eddie Robson}}
I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes
Well, you could always try Joe Hill’s work (his son). He has another son but I haven’t read his stuff, apart from Sleeping Beauties which was written with King himself. But NOS4A2 by Joe Hill was one of my absolute favourite books of last year, it was excellent.
You could try Blindness by Jose Saramago as well, it’s about a disease that causes everyone to go blind and the way society and humanity respond. And Then I Woke Up by Malcolm Devlin is about a zombie apocalypse… kind of. It’s a mind bender.
Road of Bones by Christopher Golden has supernatural and horror elements along with Siberian folklore. Wasn’t a fan personally but lots of people liked it. Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell along a similar vein, but more Native folklore, and this one I did like minus the pretty rough Native representation at times.
Feeling the need to throw out Cormac McCarthy & Irvine Welsh as authors as well. They have some interesting stuff you might like, although they can get gritty and disturbing at times.
Just a few of my favorite horror/supernatural books
The Strain–Guillermo Del Toro
Ghost Road Blues–Jonathan Maberry
Children of the Dark–Jonathan Janz
Skin Medicine–Tim Curran
