At the very end of this devastating, emotionally draining and difficult to finish book, is it meant to be ambiguous if Andrew was going to kill Orion? The chapters’ repetition of Orion seemed to be suggesting that his unintended ignorance with his family that was leading to their awful problems and his lack of humility would lead to his downfall. It felt like his final thoughts were rationalizations that he would be okay.

Yeah, I think it was left ambiguous on purpose. Andrew’s internal struggle with Orion’s actions made it hard to predict his next move.
