My favorite author is by far Brandon Sanderson and I’ve read every one of his books multiple times. Unfortunately I love it so much that many other books now seem underwhelming and hard to get into even though they’re objectively good books. I’d love to hear some suggestions for books that might be similar in style or at least engagement to his books and the main elements that I like about Brandon Sanderson’s books is his world building and vast unique magic systems. Although he’s very good at writing in general it’s definitely not the main thing that attracts me to his books
To give an idea of what other fantasy books besides his that I’ve enjoyed here are some of them off the top of my head in no particular order but there’s definitely more:
The faithful and the fallen series by John Gwynne
the wheel of time series by Robert Jordan
The first Argentines series by Jeff wheeler
Legend by David Gemmel (haven’t read the second book let me know if it’s any good)
The light bringer series by Brent Weeks
Book of the ancestor series by Mark Lawrence
Kings of the wyld by Nicholas Eams (adore the humor in this book hard to find in fantasy)
Riyria revelations series by Michael J Sullivan

Try Dave Duncan. He was a geologist, and I think he’s the best world builder. Try Magic Casement or The Gilded Chain first.
*World Of The Five Gods* series, by Lois McMaster Bujold. Won the second-ever Hugo Award for Best Series.
