Hey guys! My boyfriend and I will be roadtripping ~20 hours next weekend, and I need some good audio book suggestions that we can both enjoy! We are both into very different book genres (he barely reads at all) so I am hoping to find some middle ground that we can both enoy.

I like long fantasy series’ such as the Stormlight Archive, Wheel of Time, Throne of Glass, etc. and some sci fi as well (I finished the Silo series last)

His favorite book is 1984 and liked this book called Fast Food Nation but it took me a minute to get any actual book interests out of him. I don’t want to subject him to books he isn’t going to like, but he isn’t much of a reader so preferably something shorter would be appropriate.

    Thank you guys!!!

“The Deep, Deep Snow” by Brian Freeman. It’s masterfully read by January LaVoy. It’s the kind of book that can be enjoyed by almost any adult reader and the narration is amazing. Not overly dark or sad. No violence or rape. Relatable characters. Brian Freeman can write a female protagonist as well as any strong female author, if not better than most.

If you were to try it and enjoy it, I also recommend its prequel “The Ursulina” also read by January.

      Will you be crossing mountains?

      Dead Mountain by Donnie Eichar.

Fascinating scientific dissection of a hiking tragedy that occurred in 1959 Soviet Russia. It baffled people for decades with wild theories as to what happened.
