I don’t understand how Gimpy was stealing from Mr. Donner? Charlie said he saw Gimpy charge customers less for cakes and then pocket the difference, and that the customers were also in on it and getting a discount… if he’s gonna pocket anything shouldn’t he have to charge them more?
I think the book said something like the cake was $3, but he only charged $2 and then slipped 50 cents into his pocket. So Mr. Donner is getting only $1.50 for $3 cakes? Unless Mr. Donner keeps terrible track of his books, I don’t see how Gimpy deeply discounting a bunch of people wouldn’t get caught.
