I’m a big fan of the above mentioned authors and wondering if there are any current writers who would be similar to them and their style. Sort of more character driven crime novels that speak from the everyone man or criminal point of view, and not always from a law enforcement character POV either.
I have found Dennis Lehane and reckon he is a bit similar but wondering if there was anyone else like Leonard or Higgins or are authors more focusing on the whodunnit aspect of crime novels these days?

Maybe try Don Winslow and Adrian McKinty? Very good.
S.A. Cosby’s might be the closest to that style of crime novel I’ve read.
