Hello, I’m looking for some book recs that explore an obsessive love, preferably from the perspective of the abuser but would love both. Especially interested in elements like constant belittling of the partner’s skills to feel better about themselves, obsession over knowing every detail about their partner’s life, wanting to know where they are all the time, needing to constantly talk to them in one way or another (doesn’t have to have modern elements like blocking or texting online)
BIG points if the abuser begins to completely isolate the other person into a single room.
Also would prefer if the book isnt glamorizing? I’ve read some that felt like they used obsessive love only as a plot point rather than exploring it and what it really does to a person. Book doesn’t have to be romantic, it can be about a familial relationship or friendship as well. Honestly any relationship is fine so long as that relationship is the central point of the book, not like some side off plot or there to “redeem” the main character.
