Two of my resolutions for the new year were to limit my screen time on my phone and also to read more. So far this year I’ve done a shit job of both, so looking for recommendations. Growing up I never really read a whole lot in my free time outside of school, and the last year I really read was in 2019 after a horrible break up, so trying to make this a better habit.
I find fiction more appealing than nonfiction. Some books I’ve read in the past that I really enjoyed are:
The Godfather
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Martian
The Firm
The Natural
Station Eleven
Off the top of my head two books I read in recent years that I wasn’t a huge fan of were House of Spies by Daniel Silva and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
I’m not opposed to fantasy or sci-fi , though I think what I find appealing are stories where I don’t have to suspend a whole lot of disbelief. I think my bias might be more towards a mystery but honestly as long as it can hook me and keep me not wanting to check my phone, I’m down for any story.
