I read this book in my high school English class as a sophomore in 2007-08 time frame. The cover of the book I have a weird recollection of it being a reddish orange color with the title in the middle. The border of the book was lined with ants as if they were matching in a line around the cover.
Book was about a girl who moved from somewhere in the Midwest US where it wasn’t unusual to marry your cousin. She moved to a big city maybe after a parent or both parents died and had to relearn all it was to be an adult because she grew up sheltered.
I’ve been trying to figure out this book for years. I lose a little more of it each year I think of it, but it still sticks out as a book I recall truly enjoying.
