I’m looking for any recently published PI/Detective books/series.
My favorite are the struggling PIs who can’t seem to keep food on the table and bills paid because they keep running around taking free jobs, but let’s be real, nobody’s going to keep a business running like that lol.
So if you have **any** PI book recommendations \[although, anything fitting the above would be like a super bonus!\] please drop them below!
I don’t mind trad pubs, but preferably looking for small pub or indie books.
Preferably published recently (anything after 2020 is fine).
* PI / Detective Books
* Published Recently (2020 and onward is fine)
* If it’s a police department or forensics, that’s fine too!
* I know PIs tend to work alone, but if they have a buddy tagging along (be it a PI partner, a nosy journalist, the forensic guy, etc.) even better.
Thank you!

Jake Needham’s books seem to be doing well! I tried the first in the series and bounced, but they are recent and indie. I don’t read many detective novels, though. I go more for psychological thrillers and SF/F.
Not indie, but I recently really enjoyed the [Pentecost and Parker](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/eb8c7ae9-41b0-442b-b3f1-8e01870fe219) books by Stephen Spotswood! The main character is an assistant private detective, so she’s kind of the “buddy tagging along”, though she also does lots of independent investigating.
