I realized watching The Village movie today that there’s a remarkable similarity to the book The Giver! I would love read a similar story about a small community of people who claim to have the most peaceful and ideal way of life, but are strangely isolated and harbor dark secrets about their past and present. I don’t even mind already knowing this twist in the story, I just love being immersed in a world where the people are both naive and horrific. It can veer a bit from this exact description, I just want to learn about more stories with this vibe!
