Friends, this is a bit of a tangental request, but I think you would probably be the people who would know best: which is the best budget book scanner for personal use?

My mother is in her seventies and we’re trying to downsize her stuff while she’s still *compos mentis* and capable of physically moving things about. Thing is, she’s also a reader who’s been buying and storing books since the 1950s and has lots of favourites that are just not available anymore – they went out of print before ebooks became a thing, but of course, being less than 95 years old, they’re not available on Project Gutenberg. So in order to downsize her library, without making her lose her favourites, we’re looking at getting a book scanner and scanning them into ebooks. For personal use only, of course! We don’t need an industrial scanner, just a little one.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
