I am currently navigating the financial constraints of graduate school, with a strong interest in expanding my personal library with new physical copies of books (at this point, I’m into non-fiction, philosophy, sociology…).
I feel my academic and personal growth relies heavily on engaging deeply with the texts through annotations and adding my reflections on the book, which I hope to go back to, when I feel like it — a practice not feasible with library loans or used books marked by previous readers. This preference for new copies, however, clashes with my very limited grad stipend!!
I’d like to know if you have any advice or some suggestion on some effective strategies to continue this form of engagement without financial strain, especially considering the impending post-graduate financial challenges!?
