I was trying to google some favorite books from my childhood, especially from when I was first learning to read. But there are two books that I haven’t been able to find online and I was hoping someone could help me.
The first book was a step into reading book that I remember reading all the time in the late 90s but most likely it was older than that. It was about a little boy named Eli who was obsessed with monsters and had lots of monster stuffed animals that he kept in his bedroom. His older brother was the narrator and had to share with him and was annoyed by the amount of monsters everywhere. I don’t remember much else about the plot. Maybe the older brother tried to hide the monsters? I originally thought the book was titled Go Away Monsters but I can’t seem to find a trace of it online. The cover of the book had Eli sitting on his bed with his monsters.
The other book was more of a picture book and was about children in a ballet class getting ready for a dance recital. It featured photographs of real little girls dressed in light blue leotards with white tights and then pink tutus for their recital. I remember one little girl asked, “How do I look?” The photos were high quality and it was a fun book to look at. I originally thought it was called Pretty Ballerinas But once again I can’t find it online.
If anyone is familiar with either book I’d appreciate any help in finding them.
