My sister said she wants to get into reading, which was very surprising to me because it’s just not the kind of thing she’s ever shown interest in before. I read a lot, but I’m in my thirties and my tastes are VERY different than hers and I have extreme doubt that she’ll enjoy anything I do. So I’m looking for something good to get for her for Galentine’s Day and would like some help!
Some info on her:
– very feminine girlie
– loves really dramatic/messy TV (things like the reality tv where women are fighting or someone is pregnant, greys anatomy, that show about a fire department? etc.)
– has a generally short attention span
– expressed she thinks she’d like romance
– would not like anything pretentious, highbrow, or with flowery language
– unlikely to enjoy fantasy or sci-fi
– might also like thrillers as she likes scary movies

How about [The Inheritance Games](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/fa551f44-7356-49f1-884b-c96a95c66110) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes?
I recommend something that’s been made into a movie so it will have name recognition and you know it is popular (and probably an easy read). The two that spring to mind are totally different books that pick up on totally different parts of her personality: Gone Girl (exciting and scary) and Crazy Rich Asians (drama and energy).
Neither is the best book ever (though Gone Girl is much better) from a literary perspective, but they’re popular for a reason and can be gateways to a lot of other books. Heck, if you can swing it, I’d get both and open a couple of doors at once.
