    Hello,

ok so this is a tough one, I’m 25, I grew up without really any guidance, and I constantly feel like I’m drifting away from who I want to be, meaning a normal kind and authentic person

My mother used to give me a christian education but it wasn’t really that serious, and I’m more of an agnostic person now

Bibles, Korans, all these books aren’t really my thing because they’re kind of old, I’m not looking for something super modern either, just a book that easily goes through the ages and can apply itself to our today’s society

last one I bought was the Human’s Soul (if that the right translation) by Oscar Wildebut it was more of an analysis about society than a real guide, even though it was quite interesting.

Also, I heard about “The Book of Five Rings” but I don’t really know if it’s really what I’m looking for

I’m open to everything, it can be fiction, an essay, anything, I’m open to english books but if you can suggest me a book that has been translated worldwide that would be nice because english is not my first language

Not a life bible, but I’d love to recommend the Education of Yuri by Jerry Pinto. It’s about a young man who sounds like you (& me, when I first read it). And how he finds himself.

If you want a bible, the Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky. Each character teaches you so much about humanity. And I keep going back to it whenever I need strength. My favourite English prof described it as, “all of Dostoyevsky’s wisdom distilled in 800 pages”.

    2. I know you said you didnt want something old but a text that seems, to me, yo fit your description would be Letter to Menoeceus by Epicurus. It is relatively short and has some interesting ideas that can be applied to modern life.

    3. My go-to answer for such questions is always Viktor Frankl‘s “Man’s Search for Meaning”. I found it to be applicable for many different situations in my life, and it also resonates with everybody I know and recommended this book to in my life.

    4. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius was a book I picked up at 25. I still read it from time to time when I’m lacking motivation or a since of purpose

    5. Read Quran

      1. Ta-Ha.

      2. We have not sent down the Qur’an unto you (O Muhammad ) to cause you distress,

      3. But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah).

      4. A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens.

      5. The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty).

      6. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil.

      7. And if you (O Muhammad ) speak (the invocation) aloud, then verily, He knows the secret and that which is yet more hidden.

      8. Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names.

      9. And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)?
