I just started reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (I’m still at Chapter 2 of the book until now) and then I saw a clip of Mr. Ronchester begging Jane to stay for some reason (because I suddenly had the urge to look some clips on Youtube) so now I’m contemplating whether I should read the book or watch the 2011 movie version first.
I already experienced the disappointment of reading the book before watching the movie and then find myself devastated while watching it because it’s not close to following the plot of the book. So now, I learned that I must lower my expectations with the movie versions.
Now with Jane Eyre, I’ve read great reviews regarding the book and I don’t want to have that same meltdown again when I watch the movie. I just want to know what will be best for my mind and my heart, help me.
