    Hi everyone!

What are you reading? What have you recently finished reading? What do you think of it? We want to know!

We’re displaying the books found in this thread in the book strip at the top of the page. If you want the books you’re reading included, use the formatting below.

    **Formatting your book info**

Post your book info in this format:

    **the title, by the author**

    For example:

**The Bogus Title, by Stephen King**

    * This formatting is voluntary but will help us include your selections in the book strip banner.

    * Entering your book data in this format will make it easy to collect the data, and the bold text will make the books titles stand out and might be a little easier to read.

    * Enter as many books per post as you like but only the parent comments will be included. Replies to parent comments will be ignored for data collection.

    * To help prevent errors in data collection, please double check your spelling of the title and author.

**NEW**: Would you like to ask the author you are reading (or just finished reading) a question? Type **!invite** in your comment and we will reach out to them to request they join us for a community Ask Me Anything event!

      Finished:

**War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy**

      Man that took forever.

      Started:

**The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde**

    2. The Cloisters, by Katy Hays

Happily surprised by this one! Picked it up as a recommended read on Libby and I got through 90 pages in one sitting.

      * The Sorrows of Young Werther, by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The over the top romanticism is amusing, albeit a bit silly in retrospect.

      * Israel and Palestine: Reappraisals, Revisions, Refutations, by Avi Shlaim

A very good overview of existing sources (from Israeli archives, Arabic publications and others). Starts with Balfour Declaration and goes into topics such as relations with Syria or Jordan in the first half.

      Finished:

And The Band Played On (Randy Shilts). Great read that offers a truly on-the-ground look at the early years of the AIDS crisis. Some chapters literally feel like being punched in the gut.

One Day (David Nichols). An okay read that has an interesting theme of the impact people can have on each other’s lives.

Freezing Order (Bill Browder). Great read that highlights the financial crimes of Putin and the sheer lengths he will go to in order to cover them up.

      Started:

Heartstopper-Volume Two (Alice Oseman). Only started.

How They Broke Britain (James O’Brien). Audiobook. Just over halfway. Great listen so far that serves almost like a rap sheet of the people responsible for the current state of British politics and society.
