It’s becoming an annoyingly common view to believe in “optimistic nihilism!!1”. I am looking for a view that goes no, in fact you cannot create your own meaning and if you could it still has no real value. I am looking for books willing to argue that nothing matters and dares to suggest, preferably say out right, that coming into life was a mistake and that existentialism is nonsense.
Basically I am looking for crushingly nihilistic books, either fiction or non-fiction. It must avoid saying stuff like “you can create your own meaning” or “but still, suicide is not okay because of reason X” or “art makes life worth leaving”.
