Most first person books are in past tense. I think “The Stranger” by rachel harrison is one of the few books that I can recall written in first person present tense.
While I liked how the book is usually in present tense with verbs and adverbs and the relationships between the characters I found “The Stranger” kind of peters out in the end. The explanation for why the friend is a stranger and her absence is a little contrived especially after so much Harrison spends so much effort explaining the relationships and past mishaps between the circle of friends.
Does anyone know of other examples first person present tense books?
They seem to be few and far
