I love paper back and hard cover books but I absolutely hate the prices. I’ve gone to libraries for many years ,but there are time that I have gotten so attached to the stories that it became difficult to place them back into circulation. This was an ongoing problem until today.
Today I finally bit the bullet and went to a second hand book store. It was not that I was opposed to used books, simply, it was a 30 minute drive to the closest one.
I am so glad I went. The service there was the best I have ever gotten (And I am talking better service than waiters at the ritz- not that I ever went)
The books were excellently priced and in rather good condition.
Anyways this is a game changer ,and my enthusiasm for books have been thoroughly restored.
If anyone is in the memphis area the book store is called second edition on poplar avenue!
Also they gratefully take donations <3

The difference between secondhand bookstores is huge, I’ve been to ones where they charge $15 for some normal hardcovers (not bestseller or collectible) and some that have a marvelous credit system where you can trade in books and get new ones and barely pay for it at all. Make sure you check out more around you, never know what else is out there!
