I love road movies. However, I can’t think of many stories that take place in a traveling vehicle. Or stories that unfold during a journey.
I can think of some novels, but I’m looking for short or medium-length stories. Of course, they should have good quality.
Do you have any recommendations?

The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles is about a group of 1950s kids on a sprawling cross country trip with a motley cast of characters, interesting side plots, all told with beautiful writing (Towles is a damn good writer). If you’re specifically interested in the vehicles themselves, cars and trains are a big factor in the story.
Unfortunately, it’s quite long and I know you said you wanted something on the shorter side. If you’re ever in the mood for a nice long trip give it a shot!
