I know that there are a ton of people who go out either online or in person and they shop for new books. Firstly, if you don’t mind spending the money on a new book, then by all means do it. But, if you would like to save money and just read the book without worrying about keep it as a trophy, then sites like Ebay really come in handy.

I have gotten some books for $4-5 and many of the listings surprising have free shipping! I know this may have been a ramble, but I recently just started buying my books pre owned and I have promised myself that I will never go back to buying new books.

    1. I buy all my books used on ebay unless I can’t find it. It really is mind-blowing to me how cheap they are sometimes! I got a beautiful hard cover copy of Johnathan Strange and Mr Norrell on a whim for under $10. It also makes me feel better about passing them on when I’m done with them.

    2. You should search up used bookstores in your area as well. I’m lucky enough to live near an amazing one that has a massive selection of books and all kinds of physical media. They make Barnes and Noble look like nothing.

I’d add a big vote for local used bookstores. There are a few in my area that enjoy visiting now and then, and when I do, I almost always find something interesting. It’s partially about the books I buy, and partially the fun of searching the shelves until I find something new, unexpected, or interesting. I’ve found plenty of authors and titles I haven’t read before this way, and I’m not sure I’d have been able to find that online.
