Salutations from Europe!
My ‘go to’ refuge and comfort books are the old-fashioned mystery/detective writers; Christie, Heyer, Marsh, Allingham etc. Dependable, easy to read, always a satisfying ending.

Viktor Frankl – Man’s Search for Meaning
Basically read it every time I feel bad, sad, or down.

I read a lot of romance novels, which are guaranteed to end happily.
The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik is another comfort read for me, and The Martian by Andy Weir (which weirdly, I just recommended in another thread) for all the competence porn.
