Hi there!
We recently got my grandfather a Kindle. I’m looking for some recommendations on some romance novels for him. He loves reading and is a self described “romantic”. He’s been having trouble finding books he likes on the Kindle store. Most of the books he’s tried out just aren’t scratching the itch for him.
He doesn’t mind books with some sexual content, but he hates when that’s all the book is about. What he enjoys most about romance novels is the build up and the act of falling in love. I’d appreciate any recommendations you all have! 🙂
On another note, he’s mentioned a book he read many years ago (not sure if that is 10, 20, 30, or more years ago) that he can’t remember the title of. He’s described the same series of scenes to be a couple times now:
A woman is standing on a balcony over looking the water. She sees a man (naked?) diving off a bout into the water. She is later at dinner and sees the same man. They start talking and eventually end up together.
He says he thinks it may have taken place in Tuscany, but isn’t certain. I tried looking for the book but I’m really not sure what it could be. If anyone has any ideas, that would be wonderful.
Thank you so much for any suggestions!

These are not romances so I guess maybe I shouldn’t post, but your grandfather might enjoy them. The are funny and there are lots of books in each series if he does enjoy them…. the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, the first book is [One For The Money](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6853.One_for_the_Money). And the Miss Fortune Mysteries series by Jana DeLeon, the first book is [Louisiana Longshot](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18663492-louisiana-longshot).
I don’t recognise the book he’s trying to remember, but r/whatsthatbook could help find it so if you haven’t already try asking there too.
The scene you described reminds me of Mall Flanders or Memoirs of a woman of pleasure. It has a lot of sexual content though, it is considered the 1st pornographic novel

The curious incident of the dog in the night-time
Dandelion diary: the tricky art of walking
All the light we cannot see

The Bromance Book Club!
Would he like Georgette Heyer? I’m similar in taste and find historical romances best fit those preferences.
