    1. I read North of Normal this month and loved it. Cea is raised by her very unconventional family in the wilderness/off the grid during the 60s/70s.

    2. Ricky Bragg’s “All Over But The Shoutin'”. Bragg is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist for the NYT. Beautifully written, heart-breaking.

Jean Stein and George Plimpton’s “Edie: American Girl). It’s an oral biography, not really a memoir, about Edie Sedgewick who was Andy Warhol’s muse.

Mikal Gilmore’s “Shot in the Heart”. Gilmore is the brother of infamous murderer Gary Gilmore. Gary was killed by firing squad; Mikal went to work for Rolling Stone and eventually won the National Book Critic’s Circle Award for this memoir.

    3. I highly recommend ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ by Anne Frank for a deeply personal look into the experiences of a young girl during the Holocaust. Anne’s reflections and spirit, amidst the horrors of war, offer a poignant message of hope and resilience that continues to resonate with readers around the world.

    4. *I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings* by Maya Angelou is my favourite memoir of all time and I think you might like it based on your list. The audiobook read by Maya Angelou herself is fantastic but I am sure it is great to read as well.
