My mother is turning 60 this year and she reads quite a bit, mostly on her kindle, and i was thinking of getting her a special edition. I had a look in my local bookshop and there’s two that seem to be down her alley: an edition of Circe by Madeline Miller and The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I haven’t read either of these myself so I’m unsure which to pick. I have seen the film adaptation of The Goldfinch and my and my dad quite liked it and I think she would enjoy it too. I haven’t read any Madeline Miller but I do own a copy of Song of Achilles that was originally my mother’s and this was years back when it intially released. I was hoping someone may be able to offer advice. Thank you.

Further information: My mother is middle-class white Irish woman and is very much in touch with that demographic. The special edition of The Goldficnh is more expensive than Circe.

Circe would be my choice given its themes and symbolism.
Also, is your mom still buying books? I’m a few years younger and I’m already pruning back on my library as I am downsizing my possessions overall. Just a perspective to consider.
