I have been thinking a lot about the concept of evil and I have no idea where to start exploring this more in depth. What would you recommend in BOTH fiction and non-fiction? Are there any authors/philosophers whose work is focused on this?
I am particularly curious about anecdotes from people who have experienced war or other forms of violence.
All books and even articles are welcome!

Some books I have already read that touch on this are
Lord of the Flies- William Golding,
    Heart of Darkness- Joseph Conrad,
Man’s search for Meaning- Viktor Frankl,
    Gates of Fire- Steven Pressfield

    Thanks on advance!

    1. “Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil” by Hannah Arendt famously explores the architect of the Holocausts’s specific brand of evil. As the title implies, Arendt comes to the conclusion that Eichmann’s particular evil was the result of a lack of empathy and original thought.
